…and half the seed of Europe, one by one: Diary drawings (1)

Having established Shun!, and inspired by the writings of Wilfred Owen and Pat Barker’s Regeneration, I occupied a few weeks with making drawings that holds connotations with the First World War. As mentioned in my post regarding the the development of the Shun! logo, I focused on barbed wire, trenches, mud and blood. Also, politics, jingoism, expedience, sacrifice and mass-slaughter also features in these drawings. Yet, as in most of the darkest of dark nightmares in human history -and nature- there is also beauty and honesty to be found.
